About Au Shé Cosmetics
Hello.
My name is Tatiahna Simonian and I would like to introduce you to my
company, Au Shé Cosmetics. We are a small family owned company and
this is our story.
For as long as I can remember makeup was always my favorite thing. Growing up I would play in my mother's makeup collection and spend hours practicing different looks on myself. As a teenager I would do my friends' makeup for dances or special occasions. I always wanted my own makeup line, but I had no idea where to start. It was only natural that I would go into makeup artistry.
After high school, I went to Empire Academy of Makeup in Costa Mesa, CA to become a professionally trained makeup artist. There I gained knowledge not only about the application of makeup, but about the products themselves. I practiced as a salon artist and worked freelance for years. I worked all the jobs a young makeup artist could want - fashion shows, beauty pageants and photo shoots. But what I realized was that I didn't really enjoy those jobs. What I enjoyed most was working with everyday people. Special occasion makeup quickly became my passion. To make someone feel beautiful and to see their face light up because of something I had done was much more gratifying than any photo shoot I had worked on. I no longer wanted to be a full time makeup artist, but I knew I still wanted to work in the beauty industry. What I did not want was to have to be a slave to what advertisers and the “people in charge” thought beauty consisted of. I wanted to do it on my terms. This was my way.
My father became my business partner and Au Shé Cosmetics was born.
It was my goal to make cosmetics that were not only color rich but that
were good for you. Using natural and organic ingredients we handcraft
each and every product with love and care.
As important as my ingredients was the message I wanted to spread.
You are beautiful. Just as you are. With or without makeup.
What I have learned from my many years as a makeup enthusiast, is that
I find the marketing methods of many beauty companies to be
deplorable. Instead of emphasizing the quality of their line, they prey on
women's self esteem - telling you, their customers, that you are not
“enough” without their products. This is simply not true. We need to
stop letting the beauty industry make us feel inferior just so they can fill
their pockets. It is time that we remember how exquisite and extraordinary
we all are.
Therefore, my promise to you is this, I will never use unethical
marketing practices to get you to buy my products. Only quality
ingredients, beautiful colors and a commitment to producing an
exceptional product you will love for years to come.
